What's your favorite movie this year?  Unfortunately I haven't seen any of the nominees.  I have a date with my husband tonight and we'll watch Argo.  At home though, we get indoor dates, does that count??

I have special feelings for the movie NO, which is in the foreign language category.  It represents my country, it's part of our history and I think it is beautifully made.  And I also love Gael Garcia-Bernal, who happens to be Mexican but plays a Chilean man who was exiled in Mexico for many years.  Once again he doesn't disappoint.  Oh, is he good!
If you would like to learn a little more about NO, you can see the trailer here.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful weekend!

A little Lift...

Hello everyone!  Hope you all are having a great week so far!

My 10 year-old needed a dresser for her room.  We looked all over (the internet) and found some really nice ones, like this one at Pottery Barn Teen
Lilac 9-Drawer Dresser

After a long search we ended up getting this one from Target
Monterey 6-Drawer Dresser - White

We didn't want to spend too much money on it and this one was at a great price.  But the look was very basic.
I thought we could do better, so I got some pulls at the same store.

Target Home Acrylic Faceted Knob - Clear (4 Pack)

So, let's do the math...
Basic dresser + crystal pulls =  a very cute big-girl-dresser!!

I labeled the drawers so we all know where clothes go when putting back after laundry

And here, oh much, much better!  Don't you think?

Who would've thought that by doing such a small change would make it look so much prettier!

Dulce...

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!
My daughter and I made this yummy and very-easy-to-bake cookies.  They turned out great and we had so much fun!!

What you need (only five ingredients!)
- 1 1/2 cup of flour
- 1/2 t spoon of baking powder
- 4 yolks
- 1 spoon of cognac (optional, I did mine without it)
- Dulce de leche

Note:  You can find dulce de leche at any Argentinian or Chilean bakery.  For you New York ladies, you can find it at Fairway.

Mix flour and baking powder, add yolks one by one and the cognac.  Mix until is firm and dry.  If it is too dry you can add a little water.  Roll the dough with a roller spin until is very thin and cut the circles (or any other shape).  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350ยบ.

Put two of them together with dulce de leche and voila!

And here our delicious cookies!

Oh so good :)

Beautiful Spaces: Jonathan Adler

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a beautiful Valentine's day!

I was getting a card for my hubby at Papyrus and while I was waiting to pay for it I saw all this nice items from Johnatan Adler, pens, earphones, little note pads, etc.  Everything so colorful!  That made me wonder:  Would I be able to incorporate all those colors in my home?
I LOVE his furniture, throws and pillows.  Amazingly beautiful!  Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to incorporate those in my home, you know...  for budget issues (LOL!), hey but a girl can still dream, right?

Here are some of my favorite  pieces from Mr. Adler
