Nate…

Hello everyone! Hope you all having a great week so far!

This past weekend I went to my local Target store and I found a GREAT selection of Nate Berkus items.  He is just sooo good (in every way :)  His designs are so perfect and never disappoints. I really wanted to see in person this faux fur stool but they didn't have it.  Everything else I saw I wanted to take home. I had to make a huge effort to control myself and not make my bank account explode.  I ended up being reasonable and come home, see what I really need and make a final decision of my purchase.  To be honest with you I don't exactly need anything, but wanting is enough reason, wouldn't you agree? Below are some of my favorite items…

Nate Berkus™ Black and Gold Accent Table Nate Berkus™ Laurel Leaf Bowl Nate Berkus™ Painted Stripe Vase 12"
Nate Berkus™ Gold Facet Vase 7.8" Nate Berkus™ Faux Fur Stool Nate Berkus™ Ivory Velvet Applique Pillow

Nate Berkus™ Black and Gold Facet Lamp Base - Includes CFL Bulb Nate Berkus™ Printed Woven Storage Bin Nate Berkus™ Studded Wall Mirror

Kitchen Open Shelves

Hello everyone! Hope you all are having a great week!

I've seen a lot of kitchen open shelves lately. Around the web, at clients homes, magazines, etc.  Although it requires some work to maintain like dusting very often otherwise it gets sticky and also keep it simple and clutter free otherwise it a total mess! I have to say I'm loving the trend.  It looks really pretty and gives sophistication to a kitchen.  I will definitely consider this option when I have my own house (sigh!). Below are a few favorites that I found on where else, Pinterest!

See it clear

Hello everyone, hope you all are having a great week!

Have you ever got something just because you need it but you didn't really love it?  Well, that's just what happened to me… About a year ago I needed new glasses because I lost mine. I don't know what happened as I can not understand how one can lose a pair of reading glasses, but that's what happened. So I got a new pair that I really liked, but I didn't love. And for over a year I've been looking around for the right ones.

I was so happy when I learned about Warby Parker. Their designs are just fabulous and they totally match my style.
Well, today they are launching their Fall Collection and I'm head over heals with their new styles. They are so classy and modern at the same time and so easy to wear for work or with casual weekend outfits. Below are my favorite ones (the first and third ones are the same but different color).

The only problem now is that I can't decide on just one so I may get a couple!  Which one is your favorite?

Cleaning common mistakes

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Labor Day weekend!

Working at different apartments and with so many clients I always find a few mistakes people tend to make.  Please note this is not a criticism but instead looking things from a different point of view and trying to help you avoid them. So here we go!

Mistake #1:  I don’t need a cleaning service
Nothing beats the feeling of coming home to a clean house.  Even better if someone else did it for you!  If you ever need some help please don't hesitate to call us!

Mistake #2: I only have hardwood floor so I don’t need a vacuum
A vacuum will pick up all dust from floors, corner, crevices that a broom can’t get.  Make sure a vacuum has Hepa filter (high efficiency particulate air) and/or it’s sealed.  A great option is Miele and Dyson.  A little pricey, but worth every single penny!

Mistake #3:  If it looks clean it is clean
There are places and surfaces that look clean, however they carry tons of germs.  For example:  sponges, handles and door knobs, faucets, light switches, etc.  They also need to be clean and disinfected.

Mistake #4:  The stronger the products, the better
Most people think they need to use bleach and strong cleansers in order to do the tough work.  There are a huge variety of natural options to kill germs and not your lungs. As a matter of fact vinegar and baking soda can go a long way. My favorite ones are from Shaklee.

Mistake #5: Forget about common appliances such as dishwasher, washer machine, etc
We tend to forget about this appliances. Actually, when people think of cleaning appliances first thing to come to our mind is the refrigerator, microwave and may inside the oven but  ave you ever clean inside your dishwasher or washing machine?  These are very important items and to cleaned as well!  You can read a little tutorial here.

Mistake #6: Using liquid dish soap on your dishwasher
Yes, they both clean dishes, but you should never use liquid dish soap in your dishwasher. Ever.  Both detergents are made with different ingredients and the one to hand wash dishes makes a foam. So if you put it in the dishwasher with the power of water will make a lot of foam (and I mean A LOT) making it very hard to clean up. You will have to rinse the machine more than a few times.

Now tell me, do you do some of these?  I have to say I  play guilty about washing my dishwasher. I have to remind myself about it all the time :)
