Have a seat...

I am totally in love with Louis style chairs.  They are so classy and give that sort of sophistication to any space.  I desperately want one for my office!

Beautiful work space

I would love to have any of this.  If it weren't for the price point :)
I secretly stop by thrift stores once in a while just in case I find one.  It would probably be in sad shape, but would reupholster it and give a nice coat of paint.  I've already planned it all, ha!

Which one would you pick?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful weekend!

Hello everyone!
I've been crazy working this last few weeks and I've been thinking -actually day dreaming- about office spaces.  I would love to have a beautiful, airy space to work.  Not that I don't like my office right now, but the pictures below are so pretty, don't you think?

White and airy, love it!

Love the pop of color!

Spring cleaning: Living areas + Home Office

Hello everyone!
Today we'll finish our spring cleaning with all shared areas of our home + home-office.

{house beautiful}

As we talked last time, we should always clean from top to bottom and on this areas we'll apply the same system for dusting, washing windows and cleaning walls as we did in our bedrooms.

Walls:  As we saw before, it is very important to clean your walls as well.  Start from corners and edges with the help of a pole and microfiber cloth to remove dust, etc.
Also, clean all picture frames.

Ceiling fan:  With a microfiber cloth and a little dish soap.  With the help of a sturdy step ladder make sure you clean the top of every blade.

Windows:  Never wash windows on a sunny day.  The sun will dry the liquid before you even start wiping and that will leave streaks.

Couches:  Vacuum cushions and under cushions too!  You'll find all sorts of items such as cereal, cookie crumbs, oh and those keys you couldn't find for the last few week?  Found them!
Tip:  Check cleaning/washing instructions of slipcovers, many of them are washable.  Please note that if they are washable they might shrink if you put them in the dryer so to play safe, air dry them :)

Home Office
The same system above applies for home-office.  If you want to go beyond cleaning surfaces this is a great time to organize your files.  Make sure you keep only what you really need such as insurance policies, contracts, agreement letters, etc.

Anjie's Feng Shui tip for living areas
Make sure all your windows are really clean!  The windows represent the eyes of the inhabitants.  If they are dirty and cloudy, take special care to wash them well, the inside and outside.  Make sure the frames are in good repair so you can open and close them easily.  In Feng Shui, the windows should be clear and easy open, so you can feel seen and heard as well as nourished.

Thanks Anjie for that great tip!  Please make sure you visit Anjie's Holistic Spaces for more great tips!

And what about you, do you have a favorite spring cleaning tip?  Please share yours with us!

Home Office...

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  January is usually the month when we try to put our life back together after the Holidays -aka the organizing month.  It seems that this is the time we want to do it all.  Over the years I have learned that is better to start little by little so that way we see progress and get motivated for the next step.  I have to admit this is has been a slow process.  I'm the kind of person who likes to do it all at once.  In my attempt to do everything I soon realized there was too much to do.  It became overwhelming and I ended up doing nothing!  Then I got frustrated and waited until I got motivated again.  Why did I have to insist on doing it all at once!?  It is impossible to accomplish a huge job in a short amount of time!  After many failed projects I learned but it's an every day process.
Well, this year I have debated about if I should start with the kitchen or home office. So I decided to follow Jen's challenge and I'm doing the office first.
I've been searching for inspiration and here are some beautifully organized Home Offices of wonderful bloggers I admire...

How well this ikea shelves became an office!  Brilliant!

Last minute dusting

As the holidays approach faster and faster there's so much to do and so little time! Are you hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year?  I'm sure one of the things on your to-do list is cleaning your home.  That is one of the not-so-fun tasks, certainly not as fun a preparing the turkey, gravy and all that yummy food that will let us with a few extra pounds that weekend.  If you're running out of time to clean your home you can definitely call our Company and we'll be happy to help!
In the meanwhile I want to introduce you one of my favorite tools to give a quick touch up to your home:  Duster Extender.

Swiffer Dusters Extender (with 360° Dusters refills)

Why I love it:
- It extends up to three feet.
- When is not in use you can put if back to regular size for easy storage
- You can get to those hard to reach places without much effort or risk since you won't need to stand on a step ladder to get to the top of wood furniture, corners, door and window frames, ceiling fan, etc.
- Not only to reaches high but also low places such as baseboards or under very low furniture where the vacuum (or even the regular Swiffer) can't get to
- Works wonders on blinds
- The head can move to different positions for easy cleaning
- At $8.99 you can't go wrong with it!

Do you have a last minute touch up routine?  Please share with us, would love to hear from you!

PS: This is not a paid post.  Comments are genuine and my personal opinion, I really love this stuff! :)

Fashion meets Home

It seems this fall will be full of polka dots every where. I've seen many catalogs and windows with this lovely pattern. It was a huge success back in the 80s and as they say... Everything comes back.
