Locks of Love

For the last few weeks my daughter and I had been talking about her getting a hair cut.
She was against it for a long time but the last weeks she actually starting asking for it.  And I don't blame her.  Her hair got so long that washing, brushing and drying turned into a very hard work.  She not only had very long hair but also thick (and a lot of it!)

We used to play hair dressing from time to time, like I showed you on one of my week posts, here.

So yesterday we head to the hair salon.  When we got there I asked the hair dresser if she knew about donating hair.  She gave me some instructions on length, where to send it, etc.  It was a minimum of 10 inches.  I asked my daughter if that would be ok and she immediately said "YES!  I want to do it!"  I asked her again (you know I didn't want her to regret it after it was to late.)  She was determined to give her hair to a child in need.

I think she looks beautiful with her hair shorter and I'm so proud of her!

Her beautiful pony tail will be mailed to Locks of Love, a lovely non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to children in the United States and Canada.  Please go the their website and find out how you can help here.

She misses her hair but at the same time she's very happy that another kid will benefit from it.  Next it will be me chopping off my locks to donate them.  April 27th has became National Donate Your Hair Day!

Hope you all have a beautiful week!

Thanks for reading!
